On November 1, 1977, astronomer Charles T. Kowal made one of the most significant discoveries in the solar system since the discovery of Pluto: he found a completely new type of object, initially given the provisional designation 1977 UB and later named "Chiron." Chiron was a "maverick," an exotic object that didn't fit into any known category. It combined characteristics of asteroids and comets and was so unique that a new classification of celestial bodies was created for it: the Centaurs. Chiron travels on a unique bridge-like orbit between the realm of established structures (Saturn) and the world of sudden innovation (Uranus).

The Mythology of Chiron – The Blueprint of a Healer's Journey

The profound mythology of Chiron provides the psychological backdrop for its significance. Its story is an archetypal narrative of wounding, mastery, and healing:

(Ancient Greek red-figure vase)
  1. The Birth Wound: Chiron is born from a union in which his father Cronus (Saturn) transforms into a stallion. As a "hybrid being" and proof of infidelity, he is rejected by his father, symbolizing the primal wound of otherness and rejection.
  2. Mastery: Precisely because of this wound, Chiron develops extraordinary wisdom and becomes the legendary teacher and mentor to the greatest Greek heroes.
  3. The Incurable Wound: At the height of his prestige, Chiron is accidentally wounded by his friend Heracles with an incurably poisoned arrow. This leads to the famous paradox: "The healer who cannot heal himself."

From Mythology to Psychology

Chiron's bridging function has a striking parallel to a central human experience, especially in our professional development: the tension between the need for security (the "Saturn principle") and the drive for authenticity (the "Uranus principle"). The research question is therefore: Can understanding the "Chiron principle" help us to more deeply understand our own professional biography and its crucial turning points?

Chiron as a Key to Vocation

The core thesis of this project is that our professional roles often serve as the unconscious stage on which we learn to bring these two poles—structure and freedom—into a new, powerful balance. The study examines how unforeseen events often lead us into professional roles that present us with the exact learning tasks we need for our next developmental step.

An Invitation to a Confidential Dialogue

The heart of this project is a qualitative interview study.

  • The Format: A one-time, approx. 30-45 minute, and completely confidential online conversation (via Google Meet).
  • The Approach: Not a test, but an open dialogue about some unusual, thought-provoking questions regarding your own professional and life experiences.
  • No Prior Knowledge Needed: You do not need any astrological knowledge. The project is open to everyone.
  • Privacy & Anonymity: Your privacy is the highest priority. The conversations will not be recorded. I will only take notes on the key statements live and in an anonymized form.
  • Note: The questionnaire consists of 15 generally understandable and profound questions. A small portion of these questions relate to planetary positions at the time of your birth. This requires your most accurate birth data (date, place, and time), which will also be anonymized. Providing and possibly obtaining this data (e.g., from the birth register of your birthplace) is not a mandatory requirement for participating in this research project! If you cannot or do not wish to provide this data, the related questions will be omitted.

Case Studies
(in preparation)

In the future, selected, anonymized case studies from the interviews will be presented here to vividly illustrate the core theses of the research.

Become Part of the Research

I have already conducted over 50 fascinating interviews. Now I would like to expand the study.

  • Who are we looking for? Curious individuals who are willing to reflect on their own biography from a new perspective.
  • Your Benefit: The opportunity to gain new insights about yourself through unusual questions. As a thank you, you will receive exclusive and free access to future online lectures where I will present the interim results of the study, as well as a free PDF graphic of your birth chart upon request. (The prerequisite for this is providing the official time of birth from your birth certificate or the birth register, as this is essential for an accurate calculation.)
  • Next Step: Are you interested? Then I look forward to receiving a brief, non-binding message via the contact form.
