The Art of Changing Perspectives
The Starting Point – The Comfort Zone & the »Box«
Every one of us – every person, every team, every company – operates within a proven frame of reference, a »box« of assumptions and routines. This box is our comfort zone: a familiar space that gives us security and experience. However, the truly transformative challenges and the greatest potentials almost always lie outside of it. They challenge us to leave this comfort zone – a step that requires not only rational thinking but also emotional courage as we enter new territory.
My Approach – An Agile Toolbox, Not a Silver Bullet
My work is not a silver bullet that promises a universal solution. It is an agile, deeply context-dependent process aimed at understanding the »box,« expanding its boundaries, and sometimes even leaving it for a moment. My approach is based on a versatile toolbox, tested over decades:
- The Dynamics of Zooming: The ability to dive deep into minute, analytical details (»zooming in«) is crucial. Equally important, however, is the conscious step back to see the big picture and the organic interplay of all parts from a distance (»zooming out«). This dynamic resolves blockages and creates the space for real, unexpected solutions.
- Pendulating Between Worlds: I create a space where a fluid shift between the two major human ways of knowing becomes possible: the razor-sharp, rational analysis and the associative, intuitive perception. The synthesis of both worlds is almost always the origin of original ideas.
- The Conscious Change of Perspective: I see myself as a catalyst who, through unconventional questions, metaphors, and narratives, encourages viewing a situation from a completely new angle. It's not just about finding better answers, but about asking the better, more inspiring questions.
The Result – More Than Just a Solution
The goal of my work is not to deliver a ready-made solution from the outside. It is about igniting the capacity for self-innovation from within and creating sustainable value.
My approach leads to solutions that are lived because they are not only analytically correct on paper but are also understood and supported by the people who implement them. It leads to a more agile and resilient culture because it anchors the ability to creatively deal with the unexpected within the team. And it leads to the release of untapped potential because it encourages people to grow beyond the limits of their previous assumptions.
This process not only strengthens the ability to solve current problems – it ignites the creative energy, motivation, and enthusiasm that make true innovation possible in the first place.
